Surprise! I’m out of witty powder taglines!
We headed back up to Mount Mansfield for another glorious day of harvesting deep fresh snow–some of it was even legitimate blower! I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but first tracks on Sunday at 4 weren’t out of the question.
Ben might be getting accustomed to this.

Greetings From Gulmarg
Things are rough here right now. The alpine snow is too unstable to ski, and the low elevation is short on cover. The avalanche in the video was bomb triggered inbounds. There have been other slides that sounded louder in the BC but none that we have been able to see. We are making the best of it though in what has to be the coolest ski town on the planet. Screw Apre’ in aspen, a big night out on the town here might run you $10 if you are a real big spender.
We are looking at more snow the end of this week En Shala as the locals say (god willing). The only meat served here is chicken and mutton (goat or sheep). I would kill for a steak and some bacon right about now.

I still can’t believe it r**n*d on Monday. It seems like ages ago. Indeed, since that horrible affair Stowe has received at least 20 inches, and everything is almost back to normal, and in many cases, currently exceeding snow conditions prior to the mini-thaw. Today was sunny, cold, deep and cold.

Surprise! Still Fresh!
Thursday was a one-and-done affair for me since I needed to be somewhere else not near the mountain by 10:30am. I met up with Ben for first chair. We gambled on one of our favorite lines being untouched still, and what do you know(?), we won!
No better way to start the day than with some fresh tracks!
