Surprise! Powder’s Back!
Stowe Mountain Resort reported 6-8″ at 6am, and by 9am they were reporting 8-12″. At first I thought it was a joke; just two days ago a demoralizing deluge destroyed our deep delightful descendable snowpack, and I assumed the reports were just a ploy to get people to drive to the mountain. Boy, was I wrong! My only regret is not having gotten up there sooner. The mountain was covered in a light dry coating of AT LEAST 12″, the bottom third of which was of a heavier variety, and hence stuck to the rain crust exceptionally well.
