No, not the west coast… the west SIDE. As in the Wild West: The Bretton Woods Backcountry!

First let me chip the ice off my keyboard…ok…that’s done. Now on to more important things…namely the weather (and lunch). All and all it’s pretty quiet around these parts. Excluding this historic cold snap, (only two other times in the past 50 years with the latest being 1977 as the -AO been this negative for this long) there hasn’t been much in the way of storms. However, I see that changing around MLK weekend.

Allen and Sam in India

Just a quick update from Allen and Sam. We’ve made it to India and are waiting for our connecting plane to continue on to Gulmarg. So far everything has gone off without a hitch and we’re looking forward to making some turns soon.


TR: A week of VT Powder Skiing

Sometimes I like Vermont weather. This past week opened up with Winter Storm Debbie dropping 1-2 feet of soft new snow, making the post-Christmas rain layer a distant memory. On her heels came a series of small, localized snow events and cold weather. With the holiday week crowds gone, the midweek skiing had no liftlines or crowded skintracks, just run after run of powder waiting to be skied.

TR: Post-Storm MRG

Well, I missed the first storm of the decade due to some work obligations, but I was able to get to MRG on Monday for some sloppy seconds. Allen, Dave and I spent the morning looking around for whatever we could find to jump off of.
