Superstar Super Schuss

I saw an inspiring video a few weeks ago (from: The Snaz):

Of course, as soon as I saw that, my buzz was killed when I learned a not so inspiring fact: the corporate decision making head of Killington Ski Resort (located in Utah) decided to close in late April with top-to-bottom-wall-to-wall coverage on their marquee run, Superstar (and lots of snow elsewhere around the mountain).

Three weeks later, with the remnants of the Mother’s Day storm flowing away toward the Atlantic, we decided schuss over to Killington to see what was left of Killington’s legendary base. We were optimistic despite the fact Powdr (the vowel-deficient corporate head of Killington) issued a decree that there was no more fun to be had on their mountain.

As we suspected, and Powdr wisely understood: nobody goes to Killington in the spring: it’s too crowded (and pleasant)!

(EDIT: It was pointed out by SkiDork on Killingtonzone.com that the snow makes a definite “S” shape in this picture as if to indicate that it’s Superstar (or Super Schuss [or Superstar Super Schuss]).

Upon getting to the summit, Putnam surveys the descent options. Looks like there’s too much snow for a true rock ski (see above video). Shucks!

Awesome! Looks like lots of fun.

I do think though that you should make a concerted effort to get Putnam into more TRs – he’s a real looker!

HAHAHA! Thanks for the compliment Adrian… indeed it was a ton of fun. And I will definitely try to get Putnam on board for content this summer. He’s the best looking entity on FIS.

Slackfest this weekend? Even if we can’t all get in the same car, we should hook up at the summit. Hit me with an email if you want to work together (or if you want some advice)! Get Zack over here!

When you wear shiny $3 jorts made by a company called ‘no excuses’ you better be prepared to show some leg.

“On second thought, let us not go to Camelot. ‘Tis a silly place.”

On a normal snow year right bout now I’d be doing a similar shred up on Tremblant…

That dry grass is just so fun to slide on. Less fun is green grass that is dry and catchy, it ranks just above mud on the suckter scale.

    Fun TR, muchas gracias

I’ve seen this look from KC before. It almost always results in Greg getting punished.

hahaha what I’m really doing here is trying to transport myself back a few months to Austria for the Hahnenkamm. I have the perfect setup and tuck to schuss the downhill.

The only thing that got punished was the backside of those “No Excuses” jorts.
